Preview:The first Monday Night Raw of 2026 is set to go live from the iconic Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, kicking off the New Year in a major way for the Red Brand. This episode is especially significant as it marks the one-year anniversary of Raw airing on Netflix, with the historic debut episode having taken place on January 6, 2025. WWE looks to build on that momentum as it officially launches its 2026 slate.After SmackDown’s return to a three-hour format to open the year, all eyes now turn to Raw, which will feature a special Stranger Things–themed presentation, adding a unique atmosphere to the night. The episode is headlined by a massive WWE World Heavyweight Championship match, as CM Punk defends the title against the relentless Bron Breakker. Breakker earned this opportunity after pinning Punk during the Men’s WarGames match, and their rivalry has since turned deeply personal, with both men trading heated promos that crossed family lines. With The Vision backing Breakker, Punk enters the match facing overwhelming odds.The WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships will also be on the line as The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka & Kairi Sane) defend against IYO SKY and Rhea Ripley. Since turning on SKY, the Kabuki Warriors have repeatedly targeted both SKY and Ripley, but that aggression has also placed a target on their backs. Despite multiple teams lobbying for a title shot, SKY and Ripley were granted the opportunity due to their long-standing history with the champions. Momentum favors the challengers, especially after SKY pinned Sane in a recent eight-woman tag team match.Elsewhere on the card, Becky Lynch continues her quest to regain championship gold as she challenges Maxxine Dupri in a rematch for the Women’s Intercontinental Title. Since returning on December 22, Lynch has made it clear she’s not here for nostalgia—she wants results. Dupri, however, has proven she can hang with the biggest names and will look to secure another career-defining win.Liv Morgan will make her long-awaited in-ring return on WWE programming, competing for the first time since her June injury. Since resurfacing at Survivor Series 2025, Morgan has vowed to restore Judgment Day’s dominance on Raw and bring championship gold back to the faction. Her first test comes against Lyra Valkyria, in what promises to be a highly competitive singles match.Adding intrigue to the night, speculation continues to swirl around a possible Chris Jericho return. During his weekly Raw preview, GM Adam Pearce dropped the phrase “break down the walls,” instantly igniting fan buzz. Whether this is a genuine tease or intentional misdirection remains to be seen, but the mystery has added even more anticipation to an already stacked show.With Royal Rumble season officially underway, ongoing rivalries involving The Usos, Rey Mysterio, Penta, and The Vision, and major championship stakes, Raw’s first episode of 2026 is shaping up to be a must-see event.
